Moving from Housecall Pro
Your customer list is what you need on day one. Housecall Pro exports it as a spreadsheet; save it as CSV and Groundflag reads its columns as they come.
Export from Housecall Pro.
In Housecall Pro, open Customers, click Actions, then Export. Use Edit columns first if you want every field in the file. Only a Housecall Pro admin can export customers, and the file arrives by e-mail.
Save it as CSV.
Save it as CSV: open the file in Excel or Google Sheets and save or download it as CSV (comma-separated values).
Open Settings, Import data.
In Groundflag, the owner or an admin picks Housecall Pro as the source and Clients as what the file holds.
Check the column map.
Customer ID, Display name, Mobile number, Emails, Service address and Customer notes are matched for you. Home and work numbers, billing address, tags and lead source are left out; map one of them yourself if that is the one you use.
Look at the preview, then import.
Every row shows as ready, skipped or rejected, with the reason, before anything is saved.
What Groundflag does with a Housecall Pro file
The Customer ID keeps each customer apart, so two customers with the same name both come in, and running the same file again does not duplicate anyone. When the Emails cell holds several addresses, the first one is kept and the others stay in Housecall Pro. The service address comes in as one line, the way Housecall Pro writes it.
What stays in Housecall Pro
Jobs, estimates, invoices and payment history are not imported. Start open work fresh from the estimate it was sold on, and download what you may need later before you cancel Housecall Pro.
Questions
Is importing extra?
No. Import data is part of every plan.
The import says the file is not a CSV.
The Housecall Pro export is a spreadsheet. Open it and save it as CSV, then upload that file.
