Price the change before you write the change order.
A change event is the fact, not the paper. You keep the title, the reason, the description and an estimated cost and price by cost code. Attachments are uploads. There is no field to paste an image address.

Where it can start
The origin is optional: an RFI on this job, or an observation on this job. An RFI from another job or another company is refused.
Ask the subs, then confirm
The price request.
One or more subs each get a link with no password. They see what changed and answer with a price and a time, or they decline. They do not see the office's estimated cost or price.
The client's draft.
Converting to a client change order happens only after you confirm on screen. The change order is created as a draft and is not sent.
The sub's line.
Converting to the sub adds a line on that sub's schedule of values at the price they quoted, once their subcontract is sent or confirmed. The job's committed cost goes up.
Not yet
After either side has been converted, voiding or editing the event is refused. Repeating the same conversion returns what was already created. The other side can still be converted.
Questions
Does the sub see my estimate?
No. The link shows the change, not the office's cost or price.
Is the client change order sent when I convert?
No. It is a draft. Sending it is a separate step on the change order.
