Upload a drawing set

Drawings live on the job, under Docs. Upload the PDF set once: every page becomes a sheet the crew opens on the phone, with markups, pins tied to RFIs and punch items, and every revision kept.

1. Open the job, then Docs, then Drawings.

   On a phone Docs sits under More. Only people who can edit the job see Upload drawings.

2. Tap Upload drawings and pick the PDF.

   A PDF set, or one page as a JPG, PNG or WebP. The app shows Reading pages, then Uploading.

3. Wait for Reading sheet names.

   AI reads the text of each page's title block and fills Sheet number and Title in Name the sheets. Nothing is saved yet.

4. Check every row, then Save.

   The dialog says Numbers and titles read from the title blocks. Check them before you save. Fix any row by typing over it; Sheet number is required.

5. Open a sheet from the list.

   Each row shows the number, the title, the revision and how many markups it has. Move, Pin, Pen, Box and Text mark up the page.

When AI cannot read the names

A scanned set with no text layer has nothing to read: the dialog says the sheet names could not be read from this PDF. Type them below. Pages come numbered 1, 2, 3. A photo is always named by hand.

AI reads the first 300 pages of a set. A page without a sheet number printed on it stays for you to name; AI never invents a number.

New revisions

Upload the revised sheets the same way. A sheet number that already exists gets a new revision; the old one stays available and the viewer marks it as an older revision.

A pin tied to an RFI or a punch item moves onto the new revision. A loose markup stays on the revision where it was drawn.

Cancel in Name the sheets removes the uploaded PDF from the job's Files, so a wrong file leaves nothing behind.
