Moving from Jobber

Your client list is what you need on day one. Jobber exports it as a CSV file and Groundflag reads that file as it comes, with no editing in a spreadsheet first.

  1. Export from Jobber.

In Jobber, open Clients, then More Actions, Export Clients, and choose CSV. Jobber e-mails you the file; each file holds up to 1,500 rows, so a long list arrives as several files. Only a Jobber admin can export clients.

  2. Open Settings, Import data.

In Groundflag, the owner or an admin picks Jobber as the source and Clients as what the file holds.

  3. Check the column map.

Name, Company name, Main Phone, Email, Street, City, State, Zip Code and Note are matched for you. Billing address columns and J-ID are left out; map Billing to the address yourself if that is the one you use.

  4. Look at the preview, then import.

Every row shows as ready, skipped or rejected, with the reason, before anything is saved. Import more than one file one after the other.

What Groundflag does with a Jobber file

Jobber writes one row per property, so a client with two properties shows up twice: Groundflag brings the client in once and skips the second row. When a cell holds several e-mails, the first one is kept and the others stay in Jobber. Running the same file again does not duplicate anyone.

What stays in Jobber

Jobs, quotes, invoices and payment history are not imported. Start open jobs fresh from the quote they were sold on, and download what you may need later before you cancel Jobber.

Questions

Is importing extra?

No. Import data is part of every plan.

Some clients were rejected.

The preview says why for each row, usually a row with no name. Fix it in the CSV and import the file again; clients already in are left as they are.
