Moving from JobTread

JobTread exports any custom view as a CSV file. Bring your customers first, then your catalog of cost items, so your first estimate in Groundflag starts with your own prices.

  1. Open Customers or the Catalog in JobTread.

Both are in the main navigation.

  2. Show the columns you want.

Click the gear icon in the top left of the list. In the Fields tab, turn on every field you want to bring, such as e-mail, phone and address for customers, or unit, unit cost and unit price for cost items, and click Apply.

  3. Export the view.

In the same drawer, the Details tab lets you export the view. It downloads a CSV file with the columns you turned on.

  4. Open Settings, Import data.

In Groundflag, the owner or an admin picks JobTread as the source and what the file holds: Clients or Catalog items.

  5. Check the column map.

For catalog items, Name, Unit Cost and Unit Price are matched for you, and so are Description and Unit. For customers, columns with common names such as Name, Email and Phone are matched; check the rest before you go on.

  6. Look at the preview, then import.

Every row shows as ready, skipped or rejected, with the reason, before anything is saved. Records already in Groundflag are left as they are.

What stays in JobTread

Job budgets, schedules, daily logs, files, bills and invoices are not imported. Download the documents and reports you may need later before you cancel. A budget you use often can be rebuilt once in Groundflag and saved as an estimate template.

Questions

Is importing extra?

No. Import data is part of every plan.

Some cost items came in without a price.

The export only has the columns turned on in the view. Turn on Unit Cost and Unit Price in the Fields tab, export again and import the file again; items already in are left as they are.
